Costco Prices in 4/2006:
Arrange for people to bring a sufficient number of coolers for ice and meats. If there are enough, keep some water in the coolers as it will go quickly if it's hot outside.
Bratwurst preperation:
The brats should be soaked in a butter, onion and beer in a kettle on the
grill for 30 - 45 minutes. After they soak, they should be put on the grill,
away from direct flame for slow cooking. DO NOT POKE THEM AT ANY TIME DURING
THE PROCESS.
Ice Cream:

Crossover bridge is stored in attic at school and Eric has the bolts. It is collapsable but is still very long and can be tied to the top of a van(bring rope).
Be sure Leaders get their requests for badges into Awards chair early enough to receive them at crossover.
Cubs should wear Class B for the picnic and bring their Class A to change into for the Crossover ceremony.
11:30 Arrival
11:40 - 12:20 Hike
12:20 - 1:20 Eat and play time
1:20 - 2 Awards, Crossover, Announcements
2:00 - Ice Cream truck. End by 2:30pm.
Before the crossover ceremony we will have our regular awards. Each den leader needs to get these awards from the Awards Chair when they arrive and bag them up accordingly prior to 1:20. After the regular awards we will move onto the Crossover ceremony. Please bring your den flags as they will be used in the crossover ceremony. The Cubmaster will guide the overall ceremony. For each rank, the den leader will announce the names of each boy as they cross over the bridge. At the other side of the bridge will be the current cubs of that new rank who will give them their new neckerchief and book, and den flag. We start with the highest level rank, Webelos I, and move down from there. The boys need to change into their Class A uniform for the ceremony. We will request that each Cub have at least one parent / guardian with them on stage.
The Cubmaster will announce and show the new t-shirts(or other items to be given to Cubs) at the end of the ceremony. They will be bagged up by den and den leaders will distribute to boys at the end of the ceremony.
The Wolf parents are the chefs. Make sure you have some parents lined up for this so the Den Leaders can lead boys on hike. The chef volunteers will need to arrive early to get grill going and start food. The goal is to have the food coming off the grill as they Scouts return from the hike.
Tigers bring sides
Bears bring sides
Wolves bring snacks, recommend 1 bag of chips / pretzel type snack per family
